Tony Sullivan and Cheryl Grimes took on the running of Taunton Rock 'n' Roll Club in January 2003. They had been regulars at the club since Trevor Dodson started it in 1997, and were involved in helping Trevor by producing flyers, posters, tickets etc as well as creating and maintaining the club's web site.
Trevor decided to call it a day in the summer of 2002, and handed over
to Adrian Harding from Yeovil.
Tony and Cheryl met up with Adrian in November 2002 after he decided
that he no longer wished to be involved in the running of the club.
Adrian continued with Tony and Cheryl's help until the December 2002
band night, when he stood down.
Tony and Cheryl started teaching Rock 'n' Roll dancing to complete beginners before each record hop in January 2004. This was done in response to the many people who contacted them wanting to learn to dance and found that there was nowhere locally to learn Rock 'n' Roll. Although this has meant extra work it has proved to be very successful and rewarding, with new regulars now being able to enjoy Rock 'n' Roll in a more involved way.
